Hi all :) after my 1st bartop here (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=103831.0), i was wondering to make a new one, but this time with a vertical screen, and like the 1st one, i used again an usb arcade stick, i think next time i'll make one with real arcade stick and buttons !! Here is some pic, i'm waiting for u'r comment :)

Very nice looking so far! I like the slope / transition between the screen and CP.

Thanks, it was hard to do and the result is not perfect, but it's nice :)
Btw i have a question, i want to put a nes emulator in, but every emulator i have used didn't have a setting for a vertical screen, do you guys know an emulator for vertival screen? thx

Wow, great craftsmanship! But it's like creating the Sistine Chapel with an X-Arcade cp. Although, I've got to say you made it work out. I could never successfully transition the game pad into that curved front you've created.
Do you have any more pics of the construction? I'm interested on how you got that curve while making the bezel stay straight. Is it a veneer?

Was it your intention to make it look like a kid's Cozy Coupe (tm)??

Awesome work thus far!

Thx :)
I used an usb arcade stick, just to spend less money :S and to fit it the cab was hard because of the curve, i have to used a lot of woodfiller. For the curved part i used laminate waisted (sorry i don't know the exact name in english), it's a magical laminated, you can make a circle with that kind of laminated, i have 1st made the sides with a curve forme + a straight form for the lcd, 2nd just fix it to the sides, i got no more pics but, in the first time, the bartop looked like a ramp for skate lol, after cuting the lcd sides i have curved them to fit like it is now. For the color i 1st used printing paint (don't know the exactl name in english), 2nd i used veneer brush paint like u said ;)
Haha the cozy is sweety too, but i showed the bartop to 10 personn, 5 liked the colors and 5 not, :S i like the colors and i will probably put some old 8bit games sticker on it :D
thx :)

Wow, that stick looks terrible. The cab on the other hand looks great.

Lovely form, it reminds me of a typewriter with a piece of paper sticking out of it!
I agree with whats being said about the stick, an authentic stick and button set would really make this project, but you have done a great job at hiding the sticks body!
Great work, would have loved to seen the process

OMG lol i'm soooo stupid :S I forgot to put the buttons on !!!! I have to open the bartop, the only solution is to get back the wood under the bartop :-/ And btw i will probably crap the paint !!! damn !! That's what happening when we go quickly !!! :banghead:  "Welcome newbe awards" is for me !!!

that sucks. can you cut away a portion of the bottom of the cabinet to access the area? i like the shape of this cabinet alot, it looks good
-
Hi :)
I was thinking too to cute only a portion of the bottom but instead i took off the bottom directly to make it easy !
Anyway there are more pics from the bartop :)
PS: So i solded 2 buttons of the stick to put them a bit upper with 2 custom switch button, for the sound system i'll use a custom pc sound system and non important thing i'm electrician ;)

Hi, such bad news, the laptop i wanted to use sudenly stoped to work damn :S so i put in a real pc inside + the audio system didn't work i have to find a new one lol, and sure now i have to modify the back cause now the GF and the sound card take more place, anyway here are some new pic ;)
PS: i changed the title cause i forget to notify that i had this bartop idea when i saw the marvelous ninjasquirrel's bartop (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=101426.0) thanks to him ;)
