Title: jakobud cab dimension angles?
Post by: Crayola on August 29, 2010, 12:21:06 am
I am looking to build a centipede and defender cab. The dimensions on the jakobud site
are great but I dont see any angles for the various cuts. How do people replicate original
cabinets without having one?

Are the jakobud dimensions accurate? Is there anyone with detailed classic cab plans?

Thanks,
Crayola

Personally I love playing with google sketchup so I just put plans in there and let it figure angles for me.

Jake's plan are not 100% accurate.

I don't know of anybody who has accurate plans who releases them to the public.

Sorry I can't look it up right now (on phone), but Carlos Centipede Extended shows angles in his rough sketch-up.

EDIT:  Here is the site (http://www.retrospieler.de/).  It doesn't show the angles like I thought but what I did was print it out and measure the angles myself with a protractor.  You can do that same with Jakobud's.   Or as EvilNuff said, use Google Sketchup.

Also keep in mind that with what I did and what Carlos did, extra width, depth and height were added to accommodate more controls and a bigger monitor.

I do remember there being some odd angles on the cab, but it's not too bad.

you could always pull out the calculator and some scratch paper and get the angles the hard way.   :dizzy:

Hypotenuse=Sqrt((A*A)*(B*B))
Triangle has 180 degrees if you have a right angle that is 90 then you just need to with Sin and Cos to figure out the other two.
