Title: Which card is better? <off umm board>
Post by: crashdmj on August 07, 2003, 10:46:49 pm
Nvidia G-force FX5600 AGP8X 256mb ddr or
Nvidia G-force 4 Ti4400 Agp128mb

I know this is off topic but I have the Gforce 4 but can get the FX for like $160 which is a lot better than retail.

I'm pretty sure the FX is better - but go with the best source

actually the Ti4400 is faster,
why not go for an ATI card, right now they are faster, cheaper and have the better imagequality.

Keep what you have. There's no speed benefit to the FX5600...just better DX9 support. Opinions vary!  ;D

Why do the high end and value cards all have to be named the same!?!  I am sure that Nvidia has throughly confused the average consumer.  I think the Ti4400 is faster because the FX is a value card.  IF this is being used for mame, currently there is no reason for a better card then the one you have.

Also, if you are using a tv, ATI's tv out is vastly superior to nvidia's.  I was amazed by the difference in quality when I compared the radeon 7500 (in my arcade) to the GF3ti500 (in my desktop).

I really doubt you have any reason to make that small of an upgrade.
