"This is my BOOMstick!"
Just intro'd my 11yr old to this fav tonight. He loved it.
Great one liners: "Gimme some sugar baby.", "Groovy", "Hail to the king, baby."
What's yours?
-
In the movie, "Well, I've got news for you pal, you ain't leadin' but two things right now - Jack and sh*t... ...and Jack left town."
When I met Bruce Campbell, "So, what's your story, bub?"
-
My kids have been raised on the Dead.
The best lines have been taken, but "Yo, she----smurfette---, let's go" always works, along with "good, bad, I'm the guy with the gun".
Don't forget "honey, you got real ugly!".
-
although not an actual line in the movie, but on the poster:
"Trapped In Time, Surrounded By Evil, Low On Gas"
Fordman
-
Don't forget the original "Who wants some?"
-
"Alright, you primitive screwheads, listen up"
My favorite line. :)
-
"Well, hello Mister Fancypants."
-

You got to meet the king? That's awesome
"Sure, I could have stayed in the past. I could have even been king. But in my own way, I *am* king. "
"They move. They breathe. They suck."
-

It was, indeed. He came to a signing at Indigo Books in Toronto for "Make Love... The Bruce Campbell Way", and I got him to sign that as well as "If Chins Could Kill: Confessions of a B-Movie Actor" and (of course) my copy of "Army Of Darkness". While we were all waiting in line (it was a big line) he came out, and had a brief Q&A with everybody. One guy asked if he was going to be in Spider-Man 3, and if he was going to have a "bigger role" in that one. (This was, as you might have guessed, in between the filming of Spider-Man 2 and 3.)
Bruce said, "Hold on a second. I had *HUGE* roles in both Spider-Man 1 AND 2! I mean, come on. *I* gave him the NAME 'Spider-Man' in the first movie, and in the second one, *I* was the only guy to DEFEAT Spider-Man! I stopped him from meeting his true love in that movie - what's bigger then THAT?!" I was totally impressed, and everybody laughed out loud... (I have since seen the same question asked a bunch of times on different vids on YouTube, so either people have heard this before and are imitating it, or the guy was a plant from the get-go. I'm hoping it wasn't the latter.)
Otherwise, I'll spare you the pic I have of me meeting Bruce for the first time. I was totally geeking out, and you don't want to see a fat twenty-something geeking out and drooling over the most famous niche actor of our time.
;D

I missed him on the "Chins' tour. I had to work. My friend went and got his book signed, though.
I plan on going to whichever horror convention comes closest the soonest. Pretty much can't miss the guy at most of those.

From his website, it's coming in 7 dates to Gettysburg, PA (http://www.bruce-campbell.com/events.asp?specific=40).

The cheap theater was running AOD at the midnight madness here a few weeks ago. It was my first opportunity to see it on the big screen. Fantastic! :afro:
Took my daughter to see Raiders the week before during the madness. Also awesome!
-
One of my favorite lines in Army of Darkness is when he says, "Hey, you got something on your face . . . " (or something to that effect), and Evil Ash looks briefly concerned and suddenly a shovel-full of dirt covers his head.

At least I can find Canada on a map.

My favorite: "It's a trick, get an axe." I find that advice useful for resolving everyday social situations, too.
-
For the die hard fans of bruce, you should really check out this one: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0489235/ (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0489235/)
I know it's nowhere Sam Raimi but it's very funny. He financed it himself, and it's shot in his own backyard.
The Evil Dead series are really my favourite movies of all time. And i have to agree with Benevolance: "It's a trick get an axe" is timeless.

How many people watched Adventures of Brisco County Jr? I have the one season on my computer. The wife and I watch it every couple years. Also, Burn Notice is one of my all time favorite shows. He is great in that.

"first you wanna kill me , now you wanna kiss me? blow"
and
"Oh that's just what we call pillow talk, baby, that's all. "
epic lines. Also, hes the main reason I watch burn notice, I mean the show is good but he makes it great.

Here!
But yeesh, haven't seen one in a brazillion years.
-
I own the Brisco County Jr DVD set. I used to love it back when it originally aired, but haven't had the chance to watch the DVDs much.
My Name is Bruce is great for Bruce fans. Bad movie, but it's got some pretty funny stuff in it.
Check out the audio book version of Make Love....the Bruce Campbell Way if you have the chance. It has a full cast and plays more like a radio play. It's awesome.
-
I watched and loved Brisco County back in the day. I was in high school then, so I'm not sure I'd still like it. I remember in one of the episodes that he shuddered and said, "It felt like someone just walked over my grave." I got a kick out of that little payment of homage.

BCJ might have been the best thing to come out of the "really bad syndicated programming" era of the late 90's (xena, hercules, 2525, ect...). I haven't seen it in ages, but I can't imagine it not being awesome. It was really ahead of it's time. If it were released a few years later I think it might have made campbell that uber star we all hoped he would become.
Lord Bowler was the best thing about that show though. Nothing makes a show more awesome than a ugly giant black man who's in a constant state of grumpiness.
-
Brisco County Jr wasn't a syndicated program. It was on FOX. It did have reruns shown later in syndication, though.
-
Xena was not bad! It was awesome and funny in a "we know we're not historically accurate" way.
;D

I almost themed my cab after this move. Arcade of Darkness.
-
Just in case it was missed. "shop smart, shop S-mart!" it would be a shame if thatbquote went missing. ;)

Oh boy. That is all.

That would be awesome.
I've pondered a themed cab (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=100528.0) in another movie favorite of mine. Just no more space :hissy:

Good. Bad. I'm the guy with the gun.
-
Maybe. Just maybe my boys can protect the book. Yeah, and maybe I'm a Chinese jet pilot.

Went to Evil Dead: The Musical this weekend. It was awesome!

There are many different productions going on all over the place (not just the US). Matter of fact, it began in Toronto and has even been performed in South Korea.

That's where I saw it - it was awesome. Our Toronto Star newspaper had a competition for the 'Best Stage Play' and they had said EDTM was not eligible because it 'wasn't a serious stage production'. Well, the Producers argued, and in the end, it was added to the list - and ended up winning over everything else in the city... IIRC, it won with something like 30%+ of the votes, amongst a list of ten or so different productions.
If you get the chance, see it. If you get the chance to sit in the 'splatter zone' - the first few rows - do it.

Yeah, we had other stuff to do after the show, so we didn't sit in the splatter zone, but it looked fun.

You had stuff to do more important than telling people why you were covered in stage blood from Evil Dead: The Musical? Piker!
;)

We had a three hour drive back home in our friend's new car. We had no idea exactly how messy we would be. Turned out, it wouldn't have been all that bad, but we didn't know.
Plus, we had a better view of the stage from where we were sitting. If we go again next year, we might do splatter zone.

Still worth it. It wasn't your new car, now was it?
