Title: King Of The Hill inspiration - no, not the TV Show
Post by: Rick on August 25, 2010, 10:18:11 am
I'm not sure if you're a comic book fan or not, but there was a great comic book crossover in the mid-80's called "The Punisher kills the Marvel Universe", which I think would be AWESOME if converted for some huge side-art by the right artist.  Picture this: you have your favourite arcade character on top of a pile of dead arcade characters...  So, "Mario" (maybe not) standing on top of a compilation of defeated game characters - everybody from Pac Man and up.

I LOVE THAT IDEA - that would make a fantastic cab.  (It's along the lines of the 'fighting group vs. fighting group' gaming that has been popular lately, I know, but then taken to the umpteenth level.)

Here's the cover from the comic:

...which kinda reminds me of this, too:

Damn.  I wish I had some artistic talent.  Can you picture the side of a cab - which would totally support a pyramid style picture - whereby one character stood atop a pile of defeated chars?  I can SEE IT - I just can't DRAW IT!  (I also can't imagine what it would cost to design/draw...  So, if anyone wants to PM me a competitive quote on what some vector art of their vision would be - go right ahead!)

The concept reminds me of the final scene from Jet Li's movie, "The One", wherein the "evil" version of Jet Li's character fights the prison population atop a concrete pyramid.
