Hello all,
I recently installed mame and i am using GameEx front end to run the games (also using an X-arcade dual stick for controls). I booted up some robotron and everything was working fine until i attempted on the second stick to shoot up and i couldn't get it to work! I made sure it wasn't the arcade stick, and played numerous games with the 2nd arcade stick and everything worked fine with it. So i decided to go back into robotron and attempt to manually change the controls and i have successfully screwed up the controls now to where it only uses one stick (movement and shooting). Is there anyway to reset or adjust the controls for the twin stick action.
Thanks,

are you using regular mame, or some other flavor?

Believe it is MAME32, on a friends computer currently though so i can't double check :/
Edit: and i think there is an .exe in there that is like mame0127 or mame127 something like that

In the game itself... hit TAB to enter the config menu for mame. Select the one that says "INPUT (this game). Hit enter on the item you want to assign, click on the button. If you ever screw up, you can simply hit enter and then the ESC button to clear it. :-)
For Robotron specifically, there are 4 inputs that say: P1 Right/up etc. That's the one that fires (right joystick). The other 4 inputs say: P1 Left/up etc. Those are for the movement (left joystick).
When playing the game, if you choose 2 players, the players switch spaces when it's their turn.
Hope this helps.
