I'm thinking of picking up an old studio CRT monitor to replace the TV in my cab. I can't find any details about it online. Anyone know anything about Saleco Italtel? This one is a 27" viewable display with what appears to be VGA, Cable In/Out, Scart connectors on the back. It's got a switchable PC style power plug on the back (and feed through). I'm thinking this is an old digital monitor that a studio or TV station would have used.
I'm primarily concerned that it fully replace the TV that I'm currently using. I've got a JVC 27" with RCA, SVideo, Component inputs. I use a pair of Guncon2's with it, so I MUST be able to use that with this new display.
I want to figure this out this evening if possible, so any help would be VERY MUCH appreciated!

A bit of a bump, but an additional question, too.
This TV has a VGA, SCART, and BNC input and a BNC output from the looks of it. I haven't figured out the resolution or frequency yet (or at least don't understand what the spec means I guess). Here's what's posted for the SMV300 (I think I'm looking at the SMV280).
VIDEO Characteristics and Synchronism
•Signal inputs: RGB + Sync on DB9 connector
•Automatic recognition of the type and polarity of the RGB/TTL synchronism
•RGB video bandwidth: 7 MHz at – 3dB
•Horizontal scanning frequency: 15.625 / 15.750 Hz ± 600Hz
•Vertical scanning frequency: 50/60 Hz automatic lock-on
•Automatic cut-off
•Colour temperature: 6.500° K
•Internal adjustment of the colour temperature at high and low brightness
•Internal commutation of the colour temperature to 3.200°K
So, if I were to plug in a monitor with VGA as the input, could I use the guns connected to the RCA on the video card and point them at the monitor? They aren't the same source, so I don't know if that means there will be an issue.
I don't have an AVGA card, so this may be more of a pain than it's worth. Any opinions? My cabinet is pulled apart at the moment, so I can (and probably will) make improvements when I put it back together. Is this a significant upgrade?

why dont u plug in ur ps2 via scart cable rgb for the screen + gunplug and check everything works as expected ? hm .. ur monitor may be a hantarex sambers , who knows . there have been several italian brands with studio monitors , some 15 k , some with vga input or multisyncs. for running mame solder an mamescart cable and get a vidcard with soft 15 k and ur done .

If the screen is enough of an upgrade, you can always move to the Aimtrak system for the guns. Sounds like an interesting replacement and many of the old presentation monitors can be a great deal if you can find em

I may pick it up even if it doesn't work for the current project. Seems like a good starting point for the next cab if nothing else. Well, I would just go with an LCD for the next one, but they don't have any AFFORDABLE 4:3 monitors ATM. So unless I went Viewlix, I'd be unable to use on anyway.
