Title: replacing joystick disk slider thing (sorry)
Post by: mordzy on August 19, 2010, 05:25:45 am
Probably got the wording wrong. not sure what its called.

basically on the control panel between the art and base there is a black plastic disk. its like a guide/dust stopper that is sandwiched between the artwork and the base of the control panel.

Basically i have purchased some new joysticks but the holes in the old disks are too small. i cant see how to remove them without removing the artwork.

any ideas?

cheers

Alex

Is this in a commercial cabinet?

I'm guessing you're talking about the dust washers.

They can be mounted iether OVER the CP artwork, or between it and the CP base, like what you've got.

If the artwork and plex is fixed down (which it probably is), I doubt there's any way to remove and replace those washers.

Best bet is to find replacement sticks with the right dia shaft.

Otherwise, you might be able to center the dustwashers, clamp them somehow and drill them out a little larger (they're just plastic, won't be hard to drill, just keeping them from spinning might be a pain).

Thats the dust washer.
Remove the old joystick and just drill out the dustwashers hole so that the new shaft will fit through.
