Title: WG7000 series
Post by: Larry on August 18, 2010, 10:49:01 pm
Never seen this before. Originally, dead. Replaced shorted HOT and arcing flyback. Chasis is now running. Picture has no red. If I adjust the drive and cut-off I can get red but this is the weird part. Either the red is only visible as a 3 inch overbright vertical band on the left side of the screen or at times it is overbright on the left third of the screen, normal in the middle third and missing on the right third. The tube tests good after rejuv. The driver trannys test good with a VOM. Any ideas?

usually best to run 'em a couple of hrs after a rejuve .
this allows the guns to settle a bit.   ;)

worst case senario would be a dead spot on the red cathode .
which , the symptom would be normal red levels with MINIMAL displayed red characters and
poor red with large areas displayed . or, blooming whereas focus will be poor only on red

if u have /know how to use an oscilliscope, take a look at the drive waveform on the red drive collector.
look for distortion/abnormalities.

Really strange.  Turns out it was the game board.
