Title: Two questions about mounting HAPP joysticks...
Post by: transfan on August 14, 2010, 11:38:50 pm
Just got 2 Happ competition joysticks for my first cab.

Is it standard to route out an area in 3/4" mdf to mount these?  If so, why not just screw them directly into the bottom of your board?  If so, do you make an alcove with bolts like in slagcoin's instructions?  Or do these only apply to japanese sticks?

Second question:

Why are Happ dustwashers so much larger compared to japanese ones?  Is there any reason for them to be? can I make it any size I want then?
I saw a mirrored dustwasher online.  Does anyone know how to do that safely?

I just mount mine to the underside of my CP (3/4" MDF) with no routering. Works fine for me that way.

I route 3/8' from the underside of the cp. The sticks seem to short to me if I mount them otherwise. It really depends what stick height you prefer.
