DANG! There's a "Main" Forum! (And here I am, searching in vain for a forum to post a totally noob question.)
Ok, here goes. Are spinners made to be removable? I see everybody with spinners, and figure they're better for driving games or Arkanoid etc, but can you take the little knob off and replace it with a small steering wheel? (Or is that just common, and I'm asking a really, really dumb question?)
Thanks!
Rick

I have seen people with little steering wheels on them, it's pretty common.

I've seen them, too. What I'm wondering more is if they're easily removable. (i.e. Do they have a slot in them that allows you to do a quick-switch, or would you need to undo a torx screw of some type...)

I've never once seen a person with a steering wheel installed on them. How does that work?
-
Not sure how it works, I don't have one. But a quick search provided me with this link [very little information on how fast they are swappable].

I bought wheel attachment with my GGG spinner, but I play Arkanoid and Tempest so much that I've never swapped the knob for the wheel.
-
The spinner knobs are attached with a hexagon screw. Not a very easy swap, but you can do it now and then.

Randy made a modification to the steering wheel set screw such that it would just slip on over the spinner without the need to tighten anything. I believe that he just replaced the metal set screw with a plastic one so as not to damage anything when slipping it on/off. There was a thread a while back (6+ months ago) where this was discussed in depth. Perhaps you could email RandyT for details if you can't find that thread and it's not on the GGG page for the product.

Sounds good! (Should I assume RandyT is at GGG? Sorry, I'm new here!)

Sounds like a plan! So, my order should include this...

My kids (heh - and me, too) are gonna LOVE IT!

RandyT IS GGG!
-
That's correct, RandyT is GGG (Andy W is Ultimarc).
That's a good start, you should also consider adding an interface if it doesn't ship with one, and REALLY consider the "energy blah blah tube cylinder majig"... Basically, it's gonna change the way the spinner spins. Makes it a bit heavier to spin, but it'll spin for longer, which is NICE! Might as well pick it up for the 5 bucks or whatever and experiment with what you like.
