Title: Swap a Horizontal Monitor to a Vertical Cabinet.
Post by: tommyinajar on August 13, 2010, 01:10:24 pm
I'm sure this has been covered somewhere but I Googled till I was blue, but all I can find is for a rotating monitor. I've got a few horizontal monitors and a vertical cab that needs one. I'm sure it's not just swapping the cage over is it? Whats involved? (or a link) Thanks.

Vertical and horizontal monitors differ only in how they are mounted in the cabinet.  You can take a "horizontal" monitor, mount it "vertically" in a vertical cabinet, and all will be good.

1. Turn monitor sideways.
2. Install.

 ;D

It is the game being played which determines what orientation the monitor needs to be in, not the monitor itself.
I would suggest testing the game you plan on running on it to determine it's left and right sides, top and bottom, otherwise you may have to do some yoke flipping.
But otherwise it's no big deal, just mount the monitor sideways.....literally.
