I always forget to go into the Noob board (particularly since it isn't listed in the theme I have chosen).
Should it perhaps be made a subboard of Main, where it will show up more prominently and perhaps get more people answering questions ?

pff yeah, thats a good idea, --cream-filled twinkie--.
;D
sorry just seems like a day for it.
i dunno, theres a new subforum in pnr thats always got new posts and i always miss it, i always use the show unread posts function so i dont get the issue you have i guess, tbh im not sure i see the point of the subforum, they might as well ask the questions in main and hope people dont get pissy about it rather than have them mostly ignored

There's a noob board? :lol
I had no idea. I guess it doesn't show up in my theme either.
Nevermind. I've got that.

I think it was created to get the same old questions out of Main and into a nice spot for new folks.

Oh, that. I thought you meant an actual board called the noob board.

I have generally been a fan of sub-forums, but the FAQ one really has thrown me for a loop. What's supposed to go there v. main? If it really is for FAQ then how is the user supposed to know where to put it? If it's frequently asked, should they just search (humorous to consider I know) or post it in Main have someone move it over?
People ask the same stuff, people post crap in Main that should be in EE or elsewhere all the time, and a lot of people search without posting.

It didn't work out like I intended. I didn't want it for discussions so much as bookmarks. A single thread about "wood choices" with links to pertinent discussions. A thread on "illuminating buttons" with links to pertinent discussions. However, it's a manual process and wasn't understood well so it rapidly went downhill. Thoughts?

Kill it. Move em over and go from there.

I understood the intention of it when you implemented it, but watched every new person fail to understand it, and most of us haven't contributed to it.
I say axe it.
