Going to try to make this as short as possible.....but like the title says has anyone had problems with the drivers for the newest arcadevga card and windows xp? Basically windows is locking up on me in Hyperspin.....or while in windows desktop my monitor starts to flicker (looks like it drops out of 15hz mode).....and sometimes it will come back to my desktop and let me know that windows has recovered from a serious error, or other times it will just freeze and i have to reboot and once windows come back on it wants to send an ATI error report? (this is how I know its my arcadevga card causing the issue!)
Now here is the tricky part.......I had windows 7 installed before, and NEVER had this issue once......so it can't be a hardware issue with my mobo or anything like that....I'm thinking it has to be driver related? I tried reinstalling the drivers, and tried using the ati driver removal tool from the ultimarc website, but it still does the same thing. It was late last night, but while messing around with it, when I put my desktop into 16-bit mode, it seemed like it stopped? (only tried it for a few minutes though, going to do more testing tonight)
I'm using my card with a wells gardner 25k7100 series (15hz). I also installed .net framework 3.5 on xp.......is there a suggestion to use 2.0 instead? Or is this even related at all? I really really don't want to reinstall windows again, already went from windows 7 to windows xp in a few weeks (which i had working great, ran all of my programs fine, but couldn't get my 15hz monitor to run in native resolutions because I use Hyperspin as my frontend, andl hyperspin doesn't like the only resolution that would work (640x288) to run native resolutions).
Honestly i'm just frustrated to no end....... :badmood: :banghead: :censored: :hissy: :soapbox: :timebomb:

Its still doing it even in 16bit mode.......my arcade is completely useless with this issue......urgh.....so this evening I tried to redo everything.......i used driver sweeper to try and remove "all" of the ati drivers i could find (did this in safemode 2x) Also uninstall and reinstalled .net framework just incase.........my arcade worked for maybe 10 mins then it locked up again......due to the driver error.....its crazy....it works FINE on my pc monitor, as soon as I install the arcadevga drivers....it locks up! Minus a reinstall just to make sure nothing crazy is going on....I don't know what to do!???!?!? :hissy: ANDY I hope you read this!

I'm still having issues with this.....when my screen goes out, ati says it does a vpu recovery? Does anyone in here use wndows xp with the newest arcade vga card, or is everyone using newer 64-bit os now? Going to try and reinstall.....see what happens....if not i'll have to switch back to windows 7 and just figure out the native resolution issue.....urgh :banghead:
