Heres the link:

He says in the description that the monitor is faulty and that you could just connect an LCD as the monitor in their now connects through scart.

But,

That wouldn't work with the guns, would it? because you need IR or somthing on an LCD screen for the guns?

Exactamundo. Broken light gun cabs aren't generally worth any more than the spares they provide as restoring them to original means being clever with electronics, assuming you can find working replacements, whilst pc conversion is just not practically possible.

Yer, Its just the way he explains it on the listing, makes it sound like it would work.

Some average joe could buy that with the intention of putting in an LCD (not knowing that its NOT! going to work) and be severly dissapointed.

That screen is just a 50" TV with a SCART connection, so if you found any rear projection TV with the right connections, you could make it work.  BUT, you lose the nice side art.  I wonder if it's possible to replace the faulty guts of the TV and keep the nice cabinet?

Either way, this guy is hopefully ignorant.  If not, he's intentionally misleading someone to make a bigger sale.  If this were in my area, I'd jump on it for the right price.  There are enough large CRT based sets on CL that I could put something sweet together for fairly cheap!
