Title: I need some help?
Post by: wooowman93 on August 05, 2010, 08:22:36 pm
I had finished my control panel and wanted to mount on to the actual arcade but it is not going so well. it was originally on a hinge and two hook.

so i just wanted to ask how other people kept the control panel mounted?

you can get c-clamps or some other type of clamp (depending on your design) to help you hold the panel up while you screw the panel into the hinges.

Do you have some pics for us? May help in figuring out how to do it.

pics would definately help. I'm thinking that you probably had a typical control panel like would be on say a Robotron where its hinged at the bottom and then latched up top.
Did you then build a larger fighter style control panel that you now need to mount on there?
if so you will most likely have to modify your cabinet sides in order to make a notch for it to sit on. then you put reinforcement inside and screw the control panel to that.

Pics of the control panel you built would also help.
If the panel you built is just the flat top section and of the correct size, then you should be able to mount it to the hinge there.
other wise if what you built has a box section to it, you will need to remove the existing box section that you old control panel was fixed to, then mount your panel to it.
