So easy to configure, everything just works
and I dont think I could imagine a cleaner interface, what a beauty!
Now should I buy into a dead(?) project?
I have been using MALA for a while, and its great for free - but its like a constant bug hunt - not what I really wanted.
Hyperspin looks too busy, resource hungry and picky for me, so MA seems to tick almost all of the boxes, except any future updates!
-
So far, so good - everything is performing as it should, no issues at all.
I have the following emulators installed:
Mame
Stella
Nestopia
Zsnes
Fusion
Daphne
Magic Engine
Are those the best emulators for the relevant systems?
Also, what other emulators are recommended for the other systems?
I might need to change a default theme, I dont like the 'batch files' graphic and text for my pc games

I prefer MESS to Stella... I use it for Atari 2600, 5200, 7800 and Colecovision. It also emulates a lot of other systems but I find other emulators better for that.

WOW, thanks for all the links!
one small issue I am experiencing is mapping a joystick button to exit MA.
controller mapping/setup 2/quit front end = joy_button5 (this was set by using ctrl+p from MA)
the button isnt assigned to any other function and works fine in controller mapping/view/joystick
if I assign the quit function to a key (f12) it works fine, I have also tried relax input restrictions on and off
EDIT: this wont be an issue long term as I will be buying a keyboard encoder soon (just bought a trackball and spinner, must wait for funds!)
EDIT2: is there anyway to import MALA gamelists into MA?

Try setting the delay for quitting executable for 2 or 3 seconds. Then you should hold down joystick button # 5 and it should exit. You can find this setting in the Preferences under the delay tab next to where you set the inputs.
Also, the "relax input restrictions" option controls the ability to enter more than one key assignment in the dialog boxes. So this would not apply to you.
Let me know if the above trick worked or not.

Tried changing the settings from 1 to 5 seconds, same result - nothing
Its pretty weird problem, as the input it registering just fine and I can also quit with a keystroke.
No biggie, like I said I will be getting an Ipac pretty soon, just weird!

Are you sure you're saving the input correctly? After you change it, you need to click on the Save button.
If so and it still fails, try disabling your numlock key in the BIOS. It shouldn't affect your joystick, but since you're switching to a keyboard encoder in the future it can't hurt.
Also, make sure capture joystick/gamepad is checked as well.

Yes, saving the inputs!
EDIT: Got my Ipac, everything is now sweet as a nut ;)
