Title: Are Happ and Japanese buttons the same size?

I realize the holes needed to drill are not the same, but are the outer lip and button themselves the same size?  I am going off of slagcoin.com layouts and they all seem to be in mm so I just want to make sure if I use their guidelines that they will more or less match up with the button-placement if I use 1 1/8".
