Title: Dreamcast Typing of the Dead & Keyboard: Japanese vs. US
Post by: jasonbar on July 25, 2010, 06:14:01 pm
Howdy-

I've got a sealed Typing of the Dead game & a sealed keyboard for Dreamcast, both Japanese.  I'm not sure if they're factory sealed or re-sealed by a store for used sale, but I don't want to open them up if I can't use them anyway...

So, my questions are:

1 - Does the Japanese Typing of the Dead game use English words, or just Japanese words?

2 - Does the Japanese keyboard work with the US Typing of the Dead game & a US Dreamcast?  Are there actually 2 different keyboards, or was 1 keyboard used for both countries?

Thanks,
-Jason

I believe the keyboards are universal but Typing Of The Dead in Japanese does use Japanese words with roman characters.  It's playable but if you don't speak Japanese you have to remember the words phonetically which could be a detriment to play.

It's alsow orth nothing that the PS2 version happily uses generic USB keyboards.
