Title: Setting up Atari 2600 emulator
Post by: MPTech on July 25, 2010, 05:46:12 pm
I've had my Cab setup and running MAME, Pinball, Nintendo, and a couple others for a couple years now, but never got around to setting up the Atari games.
Any suggestions.

In my ROM sets I have:
Good2600 [1.00]  with 2,689 zips
Good2600_Demoes  with 229 zips
Good2600_Sorted  with 1,206 zips

Which folder should I use (what is the difference?)

Also, there a good way to filter out the better games? (I've seen lots of dupes and other stuff that I'm sure I don't want)
I've used the MAME filter for removing Adult and Mahjong games (but I can't think of the name off-hand).

Filter out the "better" Atari 2600 games ???
Yes, there were some enjoyable games on the original Atari but they were all redone years later (maybe under different names) on more modern systems.

Sorry for the confusion, I want to filter & keep the better Atari games.
I want to get rid of the crap.

What are the different ROM folders?
