Title: k4600 from hell
Post by: death69inc on July 21, 2010, 05:45:56 pm
Ok have a friends Galaga k4600
had some weird glitches I figured a cap cap kit wouldn't hurt
Always throw a cap kit in before I do anything else with a monitor .
I usually always pull one at time etc replace the one as the other sat etc .
Never had one not come back on
pulled it back out check all caps had one backwards compared to screening (never had one backwards that wasn't supposed to be) turn back around of Corse no help
pulled back out now here on my testing station still nothing.
ordered another cap kit from bob installed, triple checked all where right at least what's marked on the board

still nothing .... checked my testing station with 2 other monitors all is good .....

guess its time to start checking voltages etc .... caught me by surprise that I may have caused a monitor to not come on usually I'm getting the to come back on lol

I have slight glow from warmers (neck glow)

 i'M SO MAD AT MY SELF NOW THAT EVEN CORRECT TERMINALOGY IS SLIPPING MY MIND SO ILL PROBABLY EDIT THIS LATER!

so far fuse is fine ... voltages at both ceramic diodes range from 130to160 havent tested tr501 but asuming its fine as the diodes after it have acceptable voltage but i will still test

filament voltage is scan derived . thus , the hsweep must be functioning.

double check previous work for solder bridges, poor connections, components touching etc..
verify various supply voltages per schematic
