How can you set the Cabinet Type dipswitch to "Cocktail" for any games that are cocktail games and support screen flipping when players take turn? Is there an automated way to do this without doing it manually for each game?

there's threads on this already. but IIRC the conclusion is that you still need to do it by hand.
you really should be doing it by hand anyway:
a) there's not THAT many cocktail games
b) you will get a chance to get to know your cabinet and games better
c) some games require some tweaking to controls for P2
d) some games don't work perfectly in cocktail mode yet.
you can do it in an evening. grab a beer, kick them off one at a time and enjoy it.

Check out CFGMagician by Tempest over at the Gameex forums. I personally haven't tried it out yet but I do know he added (planned?) support for setting cocktail dips where possible.

Ya all the threads I found on this subject were pretty old. Amazing that after all this time there still isn't a way to do this automatically...

Probably because it makes it too easy. The MAME team HATES making things easy. :lol
