Hey all,
I have my mame machine all setup with a beefy pc (dual core, 4 gig, 512mb Video etc.) all hooked up to a rca 27" via s-video and all works great. Even the 3d mame stuff.
However, almost every game no matter what the emulator, will split the image when moving fast. For example, mario bros, if I'm running through the level, I can see the image being split up (see pic for bad illustration) It seems to be a refresh thing but I'm not sure where to look. Video card? Emulator? Is it because it's a TV?
Any ideas?

Its called tearing, and each emulator has an option like "syncrefresh" or similar that should take care of it when enabled.

Awesome! I'll do some digging tonight. I'm glad to hear it's not my video card. This is way cheaper!

If you look in the mame docs or mame32/ui help file, you will learn a lot of things.

If you read the dictionary, you will too. What's your point? ;D

Tearing is a basic phenomenon that is covered in the support files. The existence of this thread suggests the originator is not familiar with the user-functions of MAME.
