Anyone know any places to buy stuff in those areas that I listed? I meant like shops etc...I tried the local arcades, well, the ONLY one, and they didnt have anything worth buying. The only thing I am using is the local craigslist. Anything else I have overlooked? Thanks.

You want to buy an entire arcade or just arcade machines? ;)
-
If you want to come up north a bit, they have a TON of misc arcade wherehouses in the Anaheim/Carson area.
Looks like there is an auction going on this weekend

Check your yellow pages under "amusement" (sub category might be "amusement devices" or similar).
There used to be a place in Stanton / Cypress thereabouts that did repair and sales. There was also a big distributor in Anaheim, with a parts counter. Etc... I'm sure you'll find something.

No problem, I'm in the same boat, I have to go down (I'm a little north of LA) to that general area to pickup the Pole Position II that I just won on ebay ... I hope $245 was a good deal :)
-
Thanks Ray. There was one place and man were they expensive. I dont even know how they are in business. :(
Haha rock on. Hopefully its in good shape. Damn its a sit down pole position? How are you gonna lift/transport it?
-
It's a stand up actually, and I have a small pick-up truck. It looks to be in pretty good shape, but I'm not paying till I see and test it. Pics in link below.

this is my local distributor that I buy most of my games from for my work Arcade. He usually has a good selection of used games for pretty good prices.

EDIT: Also I know the local Tilt arcade in the mall (westfield, Horton Plaza) put all their games up for sale annually around November. However they are usually beat to all hell and back and aren't worth it in my opinion. I know I looked last year to see if anything might be worth getting for my work arcade. But they don't really take care of their games at all. I on the other hand keep my games pristine and imaculate as possible. Don't want some beat up, graffitied, scrathed, burnt out POS in my arcade. No way, no how! hence why I get my stuff from Tony at CA Robinson. All of his used stuff is completely shopped out and refurbished prior to being re-sold. Also his prices on new games are usually pretty good too.

Cool, thanks so much for the info, Im checking that out for sure! Haha yeah I know about Tilt, the people that go there treat their games like garbage. It sucks but oh well. :dunno
-
my pleasure. Like i said, Tony is a good guy and he has a good selection of used stuff. He even has a new "classic corner" on his used site. He also does some clearance events a few times a year where he gives away "parts games" some of which may be great bases for a MAME cab build

Since when do you have to be a nerd to go to a comic con? I'm going to the New York Comic Con this October. Here's a great reason to go:
