Title: Horizontal line moving
Post by: RVZ on July 19, 2010, 03:47:32 am
I'm using the s-video out from my Geforce 6600LE to the component input on my tv.  I'm getting a horizontal line going from the bottom to the top on some games.  For example with Wonderboy it's very noticeable.  Is this a refresh rate issue?

if its a close pair of scrolling horizontal bars , it "could" be due to a ground loop issue.
what is the make/model of tv ?

It's a LG 29FS4RLX.  It's just one line, looks like it's only doing it with side-scrolling games.

Is the line blurry and grayish/black or is it just a discontinuity in the image?

The former is possibly a ground issue.  The latter means you need to enable wait for vsync in your video drivers or emulator as you are getting "tearing".

That's the word I was looking for... tearing!  I'll check for those settings, thanks.  :)

I couldn't find the place in Mame where to change those settings, so I enabled "wait for vsync" and "tripple buffering" in the Nvidia Control Panel.  Fixed the problem with the tearing, thanks.   :applaud:

BTW, how do you change these settings in Mame?
