Title: Ipac/MiniPac Question
Post by: Scotty on July 17, 2010, 11:40:18 pm
OK, here is the deal. I am planning on making a couple of control panels to connect to the PC, NOT A CABINET. I would like to make a small box that plugs in to the USB port that has an Ipac or Minipac iunside, and a female 25 pin connector on it. Each control panel would have the controls in it, along with the male 25 pin connector wired accordingly. Question is... Would I have to unplug the small controller box to change control panels to play a different game? My guess it no, but can I get a confirmation? Has anyone ever done this?

You mean if you can hot-plug the actual switches. I guess you can. The switches are in opened state when connected, so the encoder won't tell a difference. Even optic encoders should hots-swap without problems.
