Post by: Bender on July 16, 2010, 11:16:47 am
Maximus is really slow to boot up?

Delusional, what settings do you have in Maximus and how long does it take to start up from desktop to splash screen? background priority? what is that?
is it scanning for game?

Ahh some of it is importing images fonts and sound for the FE
Would it run faster if you just had the resolution you were using in the theme?

I think it takes long no matter what you do.  There's no way to skip the importing of fonts loading etc.  You can only disable seeing the bar while they load; but it still takes time to do so.

However, obviously if you have an intro video and intro graphic it will take longer.

does the importing take place "underneath" or before an intro video?

I didnt want to make a new thread for this, but before I go making a intro vid, is it possible to skip it? Id like to make it 2min long and watch it now and then, or show it off, but for the most part id just like to skip the intro within a few seconds, and go strait to playing games. So is it possible to skip mid intro by pressing a button or something?

Yes, it defaults to the select button to skip the intro.  You can map any button to the select button in the preferences.
