Title: Space Paranoids - Anybody building a dedicated SP cabinet???
Post by: ArtMAME on July 06, 2010, 10:04:28 am
OK, now that the official version Space Paranoids is available:

http://www.spaceparanoidsonline.com/ (http://www.spaceparanoidsonline.com/)

Who is going to build or convert themselves a dedicated Space Paranoids cabinet?

Feel free to post pics of your progress and technical details.  Or start your own thread and post a link here.

You need the Unity Web player to play Space Paranoids.  Once you install it then re-open that page and it will go right to the SP game.  Don't worry, it's safe, just ask around.  The game is a blast!!!

You're really just trying to infect us all with a virus (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=102498), aren't you? Admit it!  ;D

If someone could get this up and running with a flight stick and trackball like the one they had at Comic-Con (http://arcadeheroes.com/2009/07/25/flynns-arcade-recreated-at-comic-con-with-a-real-space-paranoids-cabinet/), that would really be a blast.

I dont really like that version, not too authentic

Sorry - try now or this one instead

The guy kind of dissappeared off the face of the earth (actually I think he quit college and lost interest) and never finished it
But its very authentic and still fun

Not in a long while....  It has a weird, very long, and blank gap-filled intro....and the controls are not [obviously] mappable....in fact no features are accessible in-game....not to mention the tank moves so fast it is like it needs an analog control. It is neat to look at for a while.

This one crashed my graphics adapter and I had to restart. I was in the middle of writing this post, not to mention had a large web session going. -....trash....-

Havoc is right, even a pretty dedicated cab would suck, because in all honesty, the game kinda sucks!

So what happens if you call the number they have under contact us?

You get a voicemail message from Zack, who's about to beat his high score at Space Paranoids.  (Leave your message after the laser blast.)

It DOES beep, but I didn't leave a message.

My obsession is coin op games, cabs or pins.

My girlfriend's obsession is Disney.. land.. world... sea... you name it, if it's got the mouse, she loves it. She's on a message board much like this one that people post pictures of their latest ventures into the parks, and write up trip reports, much like our project announcement threads.

One of the threads recently she was showing me had a section on Flynn's Arcade in the ElecTRONica section. She was showing me pictures of all the machines that were in there, but one stood out to me... Wait... GO BACK! Is that... Space Paranoids as a real machine?

I was googling it to put a picture up here, but in my googling, i came across a thread already on BYOAC, LOL!
