Anyone have any neat tricks in ripping music and sounds from Mame roms? I'd like to use a theme song from one in my Mala boot sequence. I tried using M1, but I didn't get correct sound samples using that program.
As always, there has to be more than one way to skin a cat, so to speak. Anyone else have any ideas?
Perhaps there's some program out there that I can run in the background to capture all audio from my computer and save it to .wav or mp3 files that I can remix later? Then I'll boot the ROM, let it run until I get the desired music samples I want, and quit.
thanks!

Mame can record sound to a wav file.
I think at the command line you just type
mame romname -wavwrite nameofyourchoosing.wav
Let me know if this doesn't work as I may not be remembering this exactly right, but I know you can definitely do it! :)

other way (maybe from other games you want to RIP sounds from instead of MAME) is Speaker OUT to Line In and use Audacity to record the sounds.
