Title: Convert you NTSC TV to a fancy RGB monitor
Post by: Tadao on June 24, 2010, 07:00:16 pm
Hi i very excited about this info.

http://133fsb.wordpress.com/2010/05/22/adding-an-rgb-input-to-a-cheap-generic-ntsc-tv/ (http://133fsb.wordpress.com/2010/05/22/adding-an-rgb-input-to-a-cheap-generic-ntsc-tv/)

This mod is made by a Chilean guy, and is really clever.

The dream come true, hacking OSD display and putting own RGB signals.

He is in New Zealand:

This is a very viable hack if the TV lacks the input. I am lucky in that here in NZ all the cheap Chinese crap...

Awesome work. That console Sonic looks arcade quality. Still, it is easier to get a chassis from 8Liners.

Hi, I buy a chasis from genao, and put a 21 inch tube.

. But i have a some problems.  First, the degauss never work ok, and the screen show weird colors in most cases. (i have tu buy a degauss wand)
· The chasis isn't enough power, in games with plane colors or white screen look weird, and unsaturated. In out run, the blue sky is mixed with magenta, and colors are variable in most cases.

Costs: Tv with tube: 40 USD + 150 chasis (including ship to Chile) = No deal.

In my country the price of chinesse tv new is around 90 USD.  Not bad for a "New RGB 21" Screen.
