Many of you might remember the game Archon (was originally an Atari game, but had ports to Apple II, C64, etc).
React!Games is releasing a remake which looks like it might be cabinet-friendly. It appears to support gamepads, has AI, and supports anywhere from 1-4 players.

Good stuff. :)

Very cool.
I hope they don't get sued. And it's officially licensed!

Yep, not bad for $14.99.
I played the heck out of that game as a kid. :)

Wow that brings back some memories. :applaud:

Cool. I remember Archon. I bet my daughter would really dig that new version, combines Chess with fighting games, both of which she likes!

Holy crap thanks for the link! I've been looking for a good Archon remake ever since I retired my C64.

Sounds kinda familiar. Wasn't there a PC version of the original as well?
-
I'm pretty sure there was a PC version. Pretty sure that's what I played... Hmmm. or maybe it was an AppleII+ version. It's been awhile...

I LOVE the C=64 version of this game. Dig the box art, I plan on getting a tattoo of this some day, minus the text. (try to out-dork THAT!)

I used to play this game on the NES with my brother as kids.

LOL I used to love this game on the Apple][. I used to beat the crap out of the computer with just one or two of the pieces. Guess I didn't learn much about the chess/strategy part of the game. ;D
