Title: Newuser-Clrmamepro-Please help.
Post by: Demon-Seed on June 21, 2010, 03:06:33 pm
Hello
I am growing frustrated with my mame game set.  I am using mamewah and mame .62.  I got the list looking great however some games do not load. It looks like the game is missing.  What I do not understand is the game is listed in mamewah but just does not work.  I used clrmmame pro, however I am wondering if I used it wrong?

Can someone please advise me if there is way to scan my roms, verify them and delete ones that are not working?  I have started doing it manually but it is so frustrating.  I do not understand the set I have was supposed to be 100%.  If you can walk me through it I would greatly appreciate it, or PM if you have another solution.

thanks
Jim

A complete set will probably have a lot of non working games. I haven't used a version that old for a long time, but there usually are a lot. I would check to see if there is an option in mamewah to hide non wroking games. Maybe romlister can sort them out. I don't remember anything in clrmamepro that will remove them, but there could be.

Hey
I know there is some non working however games that worked in 37b should work. ie) 10 Yard fight.. when I run in command line it says roms missing. I am assuming the rollback is not working as its supposed to.  Is there an walkthrough on what files I need and how to do it? I have read several tutorials.. I have deleted my 2 sets and I am getting different ones to see if that is the cause.

thanks
jim

The set should match the version number of MAME you are using exactly. A lot of the roms may work between versions, but you should always assume that they do not. You can rebuild a set in clrmamepro using sources from a new set and the rollback set. I don't remember where I found the best how tos for clrmamepro, it has been a long time. Ithink your best bet would be Roman's site and threads here.
