Title: Another panel question
Post by: Daver4676 on August 01, 2003, 09:58:26 pm
I'm still designing a panel based half on examples and half on ideas.  In the examples I browsed (both custom built cabs and cabs pictured on KLOV.com) I noticed that panel was slightly sloped.

My question is:  does having the CP flat affect game play?  For numerous reasons I'd rather keep it flat, but if there is some significant reason for the slope other than keeping people from placing drinks on it I'll try to work in it.

Thanks again.

I thought about using a flat panel. But for some reason, it just doesn't feel right.  :)

(Sorry I can't be of more help :) )

You know -- it doesn't look right either.  I'm incredibly anal when it comes to this cabinet so I may have to factor in a slight angle to the panel.  What's the standard slope on that?

My personal testimony: The panel on my current cab is straight, and I don't care for it.  LEARN FROM MY MISTAKE!  ;)

Seriously though, I'd slope it.  I think approx 10 -15 degrees or so would do.  As with everything (especially everything control panel based), go with FEEL.

I think I calculated my ddragon cab had 15 degrees of slant.  There really is no standard though.
