Title: xp goes to welcome screen when not in use?
Post by: tony.silveira on June 06, 2010, 10:52:11 pm
hi all,

i have no idea what happened but i used to have my machine never sleep or never log off to the windows "welcome" screen.

for some reason, now if i leave the box unattended for a while, it logs off to the welcome screen causing me to have to click my user name to log back in.

i've checked my power saving modes and everything is set to "never".

anyone have any ideas on how to stop xp from logging me off?

thanks, t

Have you done any XP updates to the cab? If so one of them may have reset your user settings. Just change them back to the way you had them before.

yeah if it goes immediately back to the desktop after typing in the password its a screensaver
If it goes through the login process after typing it in, then you really are being logged off
