Title: Tornado spinner
Post by: deadmoney5 on June 06, 2010, 06:31:59 pm
I'm trying to move my Tornado spinner to a more convenient spot on the control panel, but I am having a hell of a time removing the spinner top.  I remember there were 2 small screws that you screwed in with allen wrenches to hold the top in place.  Now I can't get them out.  Before I strip them too much...can one of you tell me the size of those screws?  None of mine seem to fit.

thanks

not sure the exact size but radio shack sells the allen key set and one of them will fit. or you can take a sledge hammer and knock it off either way you'll ruin it. might as well have fun doing it :laugh2:

Can you remove anything from the bottom of the shaft to allow you to pull the knob and shaft up without removing the knob?  I don't have a Tornado, but that may be an option.   :dunno

I have a Tron spinner and after screwing around with it like you (no pun intended), someone pointed out that I didn't have to do it that way....

looks like you are using imperial wrenches. Or if you aren't, maybe you are using metric and it takes imperial.

In some cases what I have done is use a jeweler's blade screwdriver in an allen nut - one that tapers in [towards the point] so I can get it inside where the wrench should go. But I'd say use this as a last resource.
