Title: Blank menu in MameWah
Post by: MrPoPo on August 01, 2003, 02:22:22 pm
Hi group !!

I have a problem running some emulators in Mame Wah.

When I play emus like Daphne or FinalBurn, when exit from them and return to MameWah, the frontend hangs showing a blank screen, and cannot do nothing, only reset.

Someone have this problem or knows how to solve it ??

ThanXX

What OS are you running?  I've noticed this to be a problem myself on some of the PC games i was running.  I think the cause of the problem for me was that the 'Lock Task Switching' feature does not work in 2000.  Even when it says off it still can switch, which means when the program is done it drops to windows rather than going back to MameWah.  The only way i could solve this was do the 3-finger Sa-Lute, and do a "Switch To" on MameWah.  This will bring you back in.
I haven't solved this, i just stopped playing those games.  Also some times i get a similar effect, but is just the taskbar being on top of the FE and i have to once again do a "Switch To."  Not a problem now, but soon I would like to do away with the keyboard.

I'm using Win98 into an arcade machine, and the "switch to" solution isn't possible.

In the previous version of MameWah I don't remember to have this problem.I don't know why happens.

Try setting 'Show DOS Box' to 'Yes', not sure if it will make much difference...

Make sure you're using v0.954b too, the launching is slightly different to previous versions.

Some programs are just a pain and don't return focus to the program that had the focus previously (ie FE) :(  Perhaps try Howards wrapper if the above does not work...

Unkis17: FYI The Task Switching feature has nothing to do with this problem.  All that feature does is disable Alt+Tab, the Windows key etc.
