ive read about adding the high scores back into mame and i know that i need to recompile a new version.. ive tried to do this and spent hours messing around with it.. is there a version thats already precompiled or another mame version that i can just download.. it has to be something that will support command line tho

There is MAMEUIFX but on their website you can only download the latest version : http://mame32fx.altervista.org/home.htm (http://mame32fx.altervista.org/home.htm)

CabMAME does:
http://community.arcadeinfo.de/showthread.php?t=9555 (http://community.arcadeinfo.de/showthread.php?t=9555)
You still need put a highscore.dat in your MAME folder and a create a "hi" folder in your MAME folder.

/MAME/cabmame32.exe
/MAME/highscore.dat
/MAME/HI/

cabmame32.exe can be renamed to mame.exe

I was actualy not aware of cabmame, so i cannot advice you on which one is best. Both should work with command line. The easiest thing is the rename the cabmame.exe/mameuifx.exe to mame.exe, and the command lines are exactly like mame. If you already have a mame with your controls configured, you can copy the folder ./cfg/ to the Cabmame/mameuifx folder.

i got the high scores working but now the display is messed up... the screen is about half as big as it used to be so now i am not using all of my moniter... my front end displays properly but when i run mame the entire display is in the center of the screen.. my neo cps emulator runs everything at full screen however... so i know its something with the mame settings but i dont know how to fix it... i've gone thru the configuration and looked through the ini file.. i have no idea what to do to change it... all i really need is for the games to display at about twice the size they currently are in the window i just dont know how to change that... any ideas.. ive gone been messing with the resolutions and tried to use the stretch options in the config tab for mame in mala.. everything i dont know what i did wrong

Your missing drivers, have you re-booted recently?
