Hello
I am piecing together some pc parts to make a new mame machine.. trying to find some harddrives for it.. do not need crazy size.. just enough for mame and consoles.... any suggestions? anyone have a source for cheap harddrives? I am guessing I would need 40gig?
thanks
Jim

40gb should be on craigslist or some comparable site for zilch nada noppes. A second hand 40Gb is worth NOTHING (unless it contains all personal data of all cocaine bosses in Columbia)
Or buy the cheapest you can get new. I guess its 320Gb for 30$ or so.

Hey
Well thats just it, I have been checking and people are asking 10,15,20 for a 20 gig? WTF? seems high to me

Yeah, honestly, you might instead look for old second hand entire machines, then just remove the HD.
Barring that, I'd visit Newegg.com and just pick up the smallest cheapest thing they have.
Hell, here's an 80gig for under 30$ shipped

Remember, you'll always find something else to do with the extra space. Personally, I'd buy as big a drive as I could afford.

If you have a Fry's nearby, $40 gets you 500gb's SATA, although "factory recertified"
