OK, I'm sure this has been beaten to death, but I'm still sort of new to this. I have a JROK multi-Williams jamma board and a generic harness for it. I need to confirm how to wire the buttons and joysticks for it. I know one toggle of the button is wired to the board itself, and the other is wired to a common ground? Is it the same for the joysticks? Can I run 1 wire looping from button to button to a common ground on the board? Would this work?
Suggestions?

One side of the button goes to the appropriate pin on the jamma connector and the other side of the contact goes to ground either at a central point or daisy chained. You are wiring to the jamma connector which connects to the board or boards in the case of a multi unit.

Ok, thanks. I thought this was the way to do it, but wasn't 100% sure. 1 connection goes to the ground, the other connection goes to the board.
It shouldn't matter which connection I use should it? Both the connectors look the same.

On a switch there is a NO and a NC along with a COM it does not matter but the COM is usually used for the looped Ground. If you bring the ground back from the far end of your loop and put it to ground as well you get a loop that has protection from a single fault making it not work.

Ok, just looked at the switch. 3 connectors: COM1, NC2, & NO3. There is a diagram on the side of the switch which looks like COM1 is connected to NC2. Connect the common ground to the COM1 and the connector from the board to the NO3 connector correct? That seems to make sense.
