Title: corrupt mame

I don't know if I am going to have to reload the whole thing or what. Here's the deal, I was downloading roms yesterday and got a bad virus. Its called antivirus soft. Now when I open the mame folder ( no front end ) the screen looks small , it'a a window in a window and then an error message comes up that tells me "error creating direct sound 88780078" I am scared to open the folder anymore and messing up the contents. I believe I have successfully removed the virus but things are still mucked up. So my question is have many oif you ran ino this problem and what did you need to do
to fix it?

Then use ubuntu 9, then it is less likely to happen again.  ;)
