Im sure this must have been answered before but 2 days of searching and nothing....
Ive got my mame pc hooked up to my tv using a VGA to SCART cable. Evtherything works great the only problem is that the bottom, top, left and right sides of the screen are missing by a few cm.
Im thinking maybe I will have to find out the engineer code for the tv? Is there a more simple solution?
Im using a ATI Radeon 9550, XP and soft 15khz

What sort of TV is it? I recently discovered with my Samsung LCD HDTVs that if I have a computer connected to the TV configured for 16:9 it tweaks with the scaling in a bad way. When I switched to the move-fit setting for picture size that I suddenly got a 1:1 pixel and the ability to move the image around the screen to properly cut off the chunks of the image I don't need. This would also allow someone in your situation to show parts of the screen they would like to see, but can't.

In the Catalyst Control Center there are options for adjusting overscan I think

I think if nothing else works, the sliders on the tube of the TV can adjust screensize right? not sure about that, I would not recommend messing with those

You should be able to get into the service menu and adjust the height to get rid of the overscan. I did a quick google for for mitsubishi service menu and found this.

If that doesn't work try the Monitor/Video section there are some tv guys on there that should be able to get you in.
Make sure you write down all of the current settings before you start changing them. I found this out the hard way and it took me forever to get the picture right again.

what kind of easier solution could it be than setting overscan, size and pos via the osd ?? if ure lucky it can all be done there . sometimes hor size has to be set by a coil u ll find on the chassis . google ur tvs servicemode and find out.
