Title: TECH: Mame Cyber Commmando rom Missing files?

Anyone know if there are different ROM revisions for Namco's Cyber Commando?

I'm missing files it seems.

If you search MAWS, you'll see the info about any game  you want including when it's been updated in Mame, the current status, etc.

Looks like it just changed with .137u2.  What version of the rom do you have?  You may need to update your rom or rom set.

I have revision CY1, the original. I don't know if there's been a revised edition released, but I'm missing 7 files
according to MAME. I couldn't get it to work with my previous version of MAME either and it was the same reason (missing files).

Needless to say I was shocked to see it running (even glitchy) on my buddy's cabinet.

*Edit*

The "new" version has 31 files, the version I have has only 25 so I'm definitely missing something.

Download the newest set of Mame roms or the particular file that you need from your source.  Make sure it's the same version of roms that you have for Mame.

Mame roms will be something like .138 (the latest release).  Mame needs to match version numbers.

I didn't need the million other roms, I just searched for this one. Apparently none of the single file sources carry the newest versions.
Most are original pulls near as I can tell. More suitable for reburning bad eproms than gaming on the PC.  ;D

Guess it's back to searching for the mega pack of roms. :)

You can grab just the rom(s) you need via torrent sites instead of taking all of them.  Your torrent client can do that.
