Title: direct3d full screen "ripple" Sharp 27" SDTV
Post by: guko1111 on May 24, 2010, 06:11:31 pm
I was wondering if anyone had a solution to an odd video problem I'm having with several emulators. When using fullscreen mode I get what can best be described as ripple effects going across the screen. I believe it's a direct 3d issue because when I use Mame and direct draw I don't have that problem, or when I use cabmame that has the cleanstretch option for d3d it doesn't "ripple".

Are you talking about screen tearing?  This happens when you're games frame rate isn't locked to 60hz (the refresh of your monitor).

It isn't quite screen tearing, but I was able to get it fixed. It came down to trying all kinds of different resolutions  and turning off any "ntsc" type aspect ratios in the various emulators.
