Title: G07 chassis "19 tube swap problem (Ms. Pacman)
Post by: aPr0mpt on May 24, 2010, 12:17:17 pm
So I went to swap the tube from my extremely burnt out ms pacman machine with an extremely very well kept working hitachi tube from 1981 and when I finished I noticed the picture was upside down and tilted about 45*degrees. I kept the purity rings in the orignal position by marking the alignment with a sharpie and putting them back in place. They didnt even move that much either!

Unfortunately, I dont have any pictures right now, but I was hoping one of you could tell me what I did wrong. Perhaps I re-installed something backwards?

Thanks

Your yoke is on wrong.

Thats what I figured would be the culprit. Do you think its upside down? Does it need to be tilted differently? I'm trying to understand the reason its at 45 degrees.

By the way, thanks P!

When putting on the yoke the monitor needs to be ON so you can adjust everything the way it's supposed to be.

Upside down isn't a big deal, that's a simple swap of a couple yoke wires (unless you installed it upside down, of course).  The angle...well, that's why it's supposed to be on when you do it.   :)
