Title: National Museum of Play and online Video Game Machine collection

Bumped into this via an article in Wired magazine, haven't seen it mentioned in the forums
Thought folks might want the link to the online collection of Video game machines

Just the fact that they have a Computer Space machine is impressive.

That's an interesting setup. Though I'm a little confused by how it considers itself a museum.

A museum is about preservation of artifacts. This usually entails not allowing people to handle or touch most of the artifacts in question.

This place seems to encourage kids to play with the, "artifacts." One does not need to describe the kind of abuse thousands of kids and adults can do to anything.

I was at the National Museum of Play last summer.  It was friggin sweet!  Yeah they have a huge arcade with all the classics so everyone can get some 'hands on' but they also have an EXTENSIVE collection of consoles/vid games etx. which are behind glass & no touchy.  Does that meet your criteria for a museum?

What kind of fun would the 'museum of play' be if you couldn't PLAY!  If you haven't been CHECK IT OUT it's tons of fun. Take the kids!
