I was just about to start a thread about this and you beat me to it.

Can google do no wrong? First they smack down China over free speech and then they top it with this!

It's a very slick version. Apart from the maze layout, it feels and sounds very authentic.

I presume it's written in flash. Does anyone know how save it?

255 levels + 256 level kill screen.

If you press Insert Coin twice you can play 2 player with Ms Pacman on AWSD  :D

Nice find!

Heck, I didnt even see the insert coin button initially.  I think if you click on the logo or wait, it eventually lets you play.

There's already another thread in EE about this.  I'm curious if it'll be posted as many times at the pixel NYC video.   :o

Who here has already tried to play the two player mode as one player?  That is a blast!  It's definitely nice to see a ghost about to hit Pac-Man and have Ms. Pac-Man save him with a power pellet...

And if you play two boards, they have the cut-scene...  :)

It is not flash. It must be HTML5. Playable on iphone/ipad too.

[edit] sound is flash, the rest is javascript

Apparently it's only going to be up for two days. :'(

I just hope someone finds a way to save it as I think it could actually be quite cab friendly, especially if you're using a widescreen monitor.

Well I found a bug :) If you let the game start and don't touch anything, your first pacman gets killed, but then the ghosts go into a looping pattern and never kill the second pacman. Play forever! :D

It's probably possible to copy the code locally with a bit of detective work, but likely they will put it here:

http://www.google.com/logos/index.html (http://www.google.com/logos/index.html)

You can link to it and play whenever you like.

It looks like someone has already worked out how to save a local copy.

Link (http://pacoup.com/2010/05/21/google-pacman/)

Unfortunately, the sound doesn't seem to work but I'm sure it will only be a matter of time before that gets fixed.

Do you have flashblock installed?  I had to disable my flashblock to get sound.

Someone here at work just clicked the wrong button on Google and we had about 50 people hearing Pac-Man sounds. It was like that Southwest "congratulations!" commercial. Very funny. I had to show her it was a Google window she had opened in the background.

I stumbled on this at work today.  Good thing we don't have speakers on the work computers.  ;D  Had to wait till I got home to play any - way too busy at work for a Pac-Man break.

I think the google Pac logo is cool. I saved that onto my work PC. Cool stuff. Think maybe Namco is doing this to be kind of a teaser for the new 4 player simultaneous Pac-Man cocktail table they have coming out in the fall. (A unit I am hoping to be a beta test store for. Was talking to the namco reps at the Amusement Expo about it and mentioned that I'd love to be a test sight for it.) its really cool. 4 different color pacs on the screen and if you get a power pellet not only can you eat the ghosts, you can eat your oponents Pac-men too!

This is an email that we recieved from our help desk support. They are the ones that work tickets.

Quote from: Comcast 1.5 Helpdesk
Team, we have seen many tickets that are being put in for customers who say when they open their browser are hearing “an alarm sound”.

Please be aware, today is the 30th anniversary of Pacman, and in celebration, Google has changed their graphics and added a Pacman sound to commemorate the event.

Due to this, if the customer has a Google tab open, they will hear a constant loop sound that sounds very familiar to an alarm.

Please make your customer aware of this, and if unable to resolve via troubleshooting, it will be gone tomorrow when Google switches everything back.

Thank you.

Lol, I was wondering where that Pacman sound came from. In my case it wasn;t coming from my browser but from Yanfoe. Guess it uses a browser control and Google to look up movie info.

Did anyone have sound at all?

Here is what I found to get sound to work: I downloaded the GooglePacman.zip, and extracted it.  Then, you have to go to the Flash Control Panel at http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager04.html, (http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager04.html,) then press "Edit Locations", then "Add Location", then "Browse for Folder", then select the folder you extracted the files to. After that, the sound worked fine for me!

Don't know if this is the same as Flash Block as someone mentioned but this worked for me

Thanks for the tip kegger

Last night we played a lot of the 2 player simultaneous mode without sound.
Should be even more fun with the sound working.

They make other classic game lighters too.  The only downer is that they all go for about $100 each give or take.

I just checked, and it still does 2 player. Pacman and Ms Pacman, just like it was over the weekend. Just tap the Insert Coin button again after the 1 player mode starts.

Not sure if you all noticed, but the theme song at the beginning changes depending on what type of game you play.

If you insert coin once, it plays with Pacman with the Pac intro song.
If you insert coin twice, it plays with Ms. Pacman & Pacman with the Ms. Pacman intro song.
