How do u folks play Robotron? Do you start the game and then remap the player 2 joystick to the fire buttons or is there a more permanent way?

Actually, when you are setting up your controls tab yourself out to controls all games. Set left/left, left/up, etc to your right joystick, and right/left, right/up etc to your left joystick and then all the dualjoy games will play correctly.

Shouldn't that be the other way around? Left controls to left joy, right controls to right?

Yup.

Maybe it's wrong for you newbies!
It's a bit more challenging for people like me and paige that way :D

Could you repeat that in language that a 6 year old would understand please? Thankyou.

I think what paige means is that when you're in Mame, go to the TAB menu, at the top of the list is "Input (general)". Enter that menu, scroll down a ways, and at some point you'll see "P1 Left/Up, P1 Left/Down, P1 Right/Up, P1 Right Down" etc. These are inputs for games where you use dual joysticks per player (Robotron, Battlezone, etc.) The "P1 Left/Up" etc is for mapping Player 1's LEFT HAND joystick. "P1 Right/Up" etc is for setting Player 1's RIGHT HAND joystick.
