Title: Quick question. Wire unplugged on MAME machine.
Post by: DiskTwo on May 14, 2010, 09:35:58 pm
On the left side of my mame cabinet, I have a brick with +5v, gnd, gnd, -5b, +12v, etc listed next to screw down spots, with wires running into each one of them.

I was trying to figure out why none of the buttons on my control panel would work (all going through the jamma harness) it was suggested to me to make sure all of the correct things were getting power. Thats when I noticed the very last wire. A purple wire. it came loose and is no longer connected to the very last spot (I assume thats where it went, its the only one that doesnt have a wire on it), the spot is labelled as "ac 115v"

Anyone know if this could be the source of the problem, or if thats something I should connect? everything else in the cabinet works fine, just none of the buttons when I plug them into the jamma harness.

Photos. Don't want to be taking guesses when dealing with electricity. Especially if your cabinet had buttons grounded to the same ground as the AC. As far as I know, that's a no-no.

Sorry for confusion, I was in the process of pulling up pictures and learned this was fairly specific to my situation. This is for a 1069 in 1 board, and the jamma harness powers the part of the 1069 that handles the controls/jamma harness, so it turns out that wire did actually turn out to be the problem  ;D I found my pictures as well, of when I first bought the cabinet and the wire was plugged in for those, so it was definitely something I did somewhere along the way.
