Title: Best Ms. pac-man cabninet plans ?
Post by: rlemmon on May 12, 2010, 09:33:01 pm
Hi guys. I'm looking for some good Ms pac-man cab plans other than the jakobud ones. They have some odd measurements, Everthing ends in point something or other.

The best method is to copy a real cabinet.  It's very hard to be accurate without comparing or tracing an original cabinet.  That being said, there are some great measurements at the link listed below. Combine them with the ones you posted above and you should have a pretty good idea:

Yes my Pac-Man/Ms-Pac-Man/Galaga/Galaxian plans are not 100% accurate.  They were quite difficult to measure because of all the curves.  And yes, sorry about putting everything in decimal inches.  I just wanted to make sure I was giving an accurate measurement of something and didn't want to put out crazy fractional inches.

Like the 3.35" measurement you are refering to in your pic, 3.35" = roughly 3 & 44/128".  I figured people weren't actually going to bust out a tape measure to get down that exact, so I figured 3.35" would simplify things without sacrificing too much accuracy.

But back to the point, yes I appologize that my Ms Pac-Man plans are not as good as I initially thought they were when I drew them up.  If I had access to another one someday I will hopefully be able to make the corrections.

Thanksfor the help guys ! I think i might make a cab from your plans jacobud, but i may modifie them so that its a slimmer cab that doesn't take up so much floor space. Then again I might just build a ms pac-man cabaret.

Funny I should find this here after I started on a Galaga cabinet yesterday.  I had found the Jakobud drawings and that other site.  In the end I ended up drawing my own plans going by those 2 sources and a bunch of pictures on the internet.  Should be close enough for government work.  Will probably post a thread in project announcement forum after the weekend.

Jakobud,

Joymonkey's put up some measurements awhile ago. Can't you use that?
Joymonkey MsPacman stencil thread (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=50429.msg763019#msg763019)

I superimposed your plan over that image that Joymonkey made:
