FYI
We have a new name, and a new website!
After 7yrs we made the decision to change our name to Game On Grafix. Mamemarquees.com worked well when all we did was Mame Marquees, but in the last 7yrs we have grown, and now offer many more products. The Mamemarquees.com site will live on and we will still be doing business under the Mamemarquees LLC .. We plan to keep the Mamemarquees.com site alive for link integrity, but all the products will eventually point back to the new site. Down the road I would like to turn it into a blog and/or forum site, but that is “down the road”
We are bringing many new items and options to the new site:
Adhesive backed marquees
Marquees Pre-mounted to plexiglas
Contour cutting and die cutting of buttons holes and complex cuts.
Easier interface for ordering customer designed items
Pinball translites
Vinyl Button stickers (still tweaking these)
Vinyl Joystick surrounds
Lower over all prices
Help desk, (so no more lost or spammed emails)
Live Chat
We look forward to providing you with the same quality and service you've been accustomed to for years.

I hope you retain your mame marquee domain and all existing web pages. If you don't know how to redirect web pages, ask someone who does.
It's annoying and frankly, a bad business move when companies change names and then destroy hundreds, if not of thousands of in-bound links to them by just not keeping their $15 a year old domain active.
Prok for example, went from Olezak to gamestencils and when I google for olezak I get tons of dead links. Not good for business, Prok!!
-
Yea, I did a 301 redirect for 1000+ links, one for every product... my .htaccess file is HUGE!. I am keeping the site live for at least 180 days to let the search engines crawl it. I plan to keep the site for as long as I am in business, other then the yearly domain renewal, there is no other cost.

Yeah, as long as I can still get there from Mamemarquees.com, that's all that matters. Looking forward to seeing the new products! :)
-
Scott, sounds like you know what you are doing.
You can also (if you haven't already) serve up a customer 404 page that either provides links to your new home page, or could do it automatically.

Looking forward to checking out the new products. Forgive me for asking, but what is a vinyl joystick label? Is it just a sticker that you would place around the joystick holes? Or is it something you'd put on the dust cover? Or is it a replacement dust cover?
Thanks!
-
what is a vinyl joystick label?
I'm thinking like the 4-way/8-way arrow labels Pongo makes.
-
Ok, I was sort of thinking it must be that too.
So would that be big enough to go around the dust cover on some happ joysticks then? Or would I have to leave the dust covers off if I wanted to use the stickers?

The new site doesn't support I.E. 6, so I can't buy stuff from work anymore. Of course, I shouldn't anyway.

I shouldn't anyway.
Shouldn't what? Use IE6? If so, I agree. ;)

Congrats! The new site looks nice.

Marquees Pre-mounted to plexiglas
Does this mean silk-screened onto plexi? What do you mean by "pre-mounted"?
Lower over all prices

I shouldn't be buying arcade parts while I am working.
Our IT Dept has decided we're using Internet Explorer 6 for the remainder of the year. Given the choice, I'd install Firefox.
-
I have the same situation at my day job... IE6 until who knows when.... I use portable firefox running off a USB stick to get around it since I can't install anything on my work PC ;)
I went back and forth on supporting IE6, I would have had to dumb down the site and looking at the stats on my old site only 5% used ie6. It is a niche business and most of the users are pretty technical and use later browsers.
As far as the pre-mounted marquees, it is simply backlit film, front printed, then laminated with a tough laminate and adhered to the front of a piece of plexiglas. It looks really nice, both when not backlit and when backlit.

I kid! actually Im on IE6, at work, because they make us. I look forward to using the new site and hopefully you've cured the issueof unreplied emails.
-
I'm amazed how many people are stuck on IE6?! Not to get too off topic but MY GOD. Are these all enormous organizations, or small shops with incompetent IT staff?
-
for us its proprietary software that doesnt work right with 7 or 8 , they just started updating the sotfware to work with 7 and its in beta. We also still use XP. IE6 is 9 yrs old , so is XP. I was barely old enough to drink (legally)
